Recently, HyperOffice, a prominent intranet solution, has released an iPhone enhanced version of its product. HyperOffice tries to fill in the vacuum created due to lack of Exchange support in iPhone currently. At this point, iPhone does not allow applications to be loaded onto the set, but allows web applications to be accessed through its Safari web browser. This suits HyperOffice’s approach, whose expertise lies in delivery over the web.
HyperOffice acts as a bridge between Exchange and iPhone and allows users to access, synchronize and share their Outlook mail, contacts, calendars & tasks right from their iPhone device. This can be done with or without Exchange. Moreover, most of HyperOffice’s intranet suite features can be accessed over the iPhone.
This also indicative of the trend of an increasing openness of business users to using iPhone as a business tool.
